In a science lab located in central New York City, scientists have been genetically experimenting with young humans. Under the supervision of the cruel scientist (also known as white coats) young children and teenagers live in dog crates, only leaving their small homes to be subjected to cruel tests or genetic modifications. Now many of the scientist’s experiments failed horridly, but a few were also successful. Out of all of the white coat’s malicious experiments, the most successful were dubbed Avians: humans who had their DNA combined with that of birds to give them wings, hollow bones, and various other modifications. Of course, the scientists did not just stop at trying to blend avian DNA with human DNA. Actually, they tried combining DNA of almost every kind of animal with Human DNA, hoping to come up with some kind of viable super human. And if that was not enough, the white coats also tried blending combinations of animal DNA to some human’s DNA.

And after they created their little 'test subjects', the scientists came up with many different excruciatingly hard tests to measure their subjects success. Depending on the particular specimen, they would be put through grueling test of their intelligence, endurance, speed and even at times fighting skills. It was not uncommon to see one of these poor creatures die from these tests, or go back to their cages to sleep and never wake up. Food was not always a common part of life at the laboratories, nor was it always of proper quality. And sometimes subjects were tested to see how long they could survive without food. Obviously, the genetically modified humans were getting sick of this, and soon tried to escape. Some escaped. But everyone could not be so lucky. Many of these poor humans had been hacked apart so badly they could no longer move efficiently and so they lived the rest of their lives in those small cages.

Of course even if hybrids escape, things are not always for the better. Outside of the laborites, there is no one to give them food. The New York nights are lonely and cold, so they have to now worrying about finding somewhere to roost for the night. And even if the conditions were horrid in the laborites, they now have to worry about lupine-human hybrids (commonly called Erasers) whose job in life is to hunt them down and possibly terminate them. Or bring them back to the labs. And the hybrids know, they are good at their bloody job and enjoy it.

I got ideas for this from a series of books I was reading called Maximum Ride by James Patterson. I highly recommend reading that series, they are extremely good and can give you a great insight on a genetically mutated teenage mind. =)

I couldn't afford a cool signature, so I just got this one.

Ren-- The crazy and stubborn 'tough-girl' avian.
